![]() This is not a biography book, although it does give short bios, but those are only to explain the author's point. He names 10 past leaders and 10 present leaders. Carlos Rivera's view of leadership is from the heart. This book is a great reference for leadership. ![]() There are many leadership books, but very few can have the impact of this one. But the most amazing thing about the book is that the author was able to describe these leaders as all having four characteristcs in common, and detailed how they excelled in each one of them. People are surprised to learn so many details that they didnt know about many of the current leaders described here. ![]() ![]() He served two years as a government aide before he went to the University of Michigan to earn his MBA in 1994. He went to the mainland to earn a degree in economics but came home because he wanted to contribute to Puerto Rico. One thing that is unique in this book is that it depicts not only past leaders that we all know and agree they were real leaders (George Washington, JFK and Winston Churchill), but in addition, it characterizes current people that are among us, that certainly represent excellent leadership models (e.g., Lance Armstrong, Bill Gates and even Pope John Paul II). CARLOS ABRAMS-RIVERA'S pathway to corporate success started in Puerto Rico where he was born and grew up. ![]()
